No. APIs are ideal but not always available. ETL pipelines, CSV hand-offs, database-to-database syncs and custom internal tools are all on the table.
Yes - that is usually the cheapest route. A thin ETL and warehouse layer plus reporting automation often does more than a full stack rebuild.
