Overview
This project produced a business card and a QR code marketing card for Beds R Us — designed for the organisation's Group Marketing Coordinator. Rather than a standard corporate contact card, the design combined personal contact details, retail brand recognition, mattress supplier branding and QR code engagement into one compact print asset.
It's a clear example of brand application work: the existing Beds R Us logo and brand system were respected, while the card itself became more useful — a print piece that doesn't just identify someone, but moves the customer towards a digital next step.
The brief and the challenge
The brief asked the card to do two jobs at once: present the Beds R Us brand and the staff member's role and contact details, while also serving as a marketing touchpoint for supplier campaigns, product education and customer enquiries. That's a lot of information for a 90×55 mm format.
The card also had to extend the existing Beds R Us look without redrawing it — a brand application exercise rather than a rebrand. The design had to feel campaign-ready and memorable while sitting comfortably alongside Beds R Us' existing retail identity.
The approach
The front side carries a night-sky theme — stars, clouds and a crescent moon — to create a soft sleep-related visual language. The deep navy, white and orange palette keeps the card aligned with the established brand while giving it a more memorable personality than a generic corporate layout.
The reverse side shifts into campaign mode: a mattress product image, supplier logos and a large QR code supported by a direct "Scan Now" call-to-action. That structure turns the card into a print-to-digital touchpoint — useful in meetings, supplier conversations, in-store and at events.
